Montreal Impact 1-0 New York Red Bulls: Di Vaio strike preserves Impact's perfect start

A first-half goal from Marco Di Vaio secured the Quebecois side its fourth win from four this year
The Montreal Impact beat the New York Red Bulls 1-0 at home to win their fourth straight and solidify first place overall and in Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference.

Marco Di Vaio grabbed the game's only goal in the 13th minute. With New York pushing forward, Patrice Bernier played a smart but simple ball over the top for the former Italy international to run on to, beating the offside trap, and all the 36-year-old had to do was put a composed finish past Robles for his second strike of the season.

Brandon Barklage was sent off in the second half, as the New York defender picked up two yellow cards in an eight-minute spell.

Montreal is now 4-0-0 on the season, while New York is still searching for its first win with a 0-2-2 record.
