Timbers make trades for Zemanski and Nanchoff, send Bornstein's rights to Chivas USA

Portland coach Caleb Porter is reunited with two of his former Akron charges, while the Goats grab the rights to their former left back.
There's a little bit of a Zip reunion going on in the Rose City. On Wednesday, the Portland Timbers, managed by former Akron head coach Caleb Porter and featuring one of the University's most heralded alums, Darlington Nagbe, added two more former Akron players to its roster, securing deals for Ben Zemanki and Michael Nanchoff.

Midfielder Zemanski, 24, was drafted in 2010 by Chivas USA and made 72 appearances for the Goats over three seasons. In return, Chivas USA received the rights to U.S. national team defender and 2010 World Cup participant Jonathan Bornstein, currently with Tigres in Mexico's Liga MX.

Nanchoff, also 24, was drafted by the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2011 and made 14 appearances in two seasons in British Colombia. The Timbers sent a 2015 fourth-round draft pick to the Whitecaps in exchange for his services.
