LA Galaxy sign Robbie Keane to contract extension

The Irish striker appears set to stay in Los Angeles for the long term, ending speculation about a possible transfer.
The LA Galaxy announced that the club has agreed to a multi-year contract extension with forward Robbie Keane. Per league policy, details of the contract were not released.

The 32-year-old has been a hit since his arrival in LA in the middle of the 2011 season. He has scored 18 goals and added 10 assists in 32 regular season games. He has also scored seven goals and two assists in 10 postseason games, as the Galaxy have won MLS Cup in both his seasons with the team.

Keane was named to the MLS Best XI in 2012, as he led the Galaxy with 16 goals in 28 regular season games while adding nine assists. He was also named the Galaxy MVP.
