Galaxy deal Buddle to Colorado for money, draft pick

Colorado has replaced Conor Casey in rapid fashion, sending allocation money and a supplemental draft pick to LA for striker Edson Buddle
The Colorado Rapids didn't wait long to bring in a replacement for recently departed forward Conor Casey, trading for Los Angeles Galaxy striker Edson Buddle. The Galaxy will receive allocation money and Colorado's 2013 Supplemental Draft first round pick.

The 31-year-old is eighth on Major League Soccer's all-time scoring charts with 93 goals since coming into the league in 2001. Before joining Los Angeles in 2007, Buddle had stints with the Columbus Crew, New York Red Bulls, and Toronto FC.

Buddle had a career season for the Galaxy in 2010, scoring 17 goals as the Galaxy marched to the Supporters Shield, inspiring a move to Germany's FC Ingolstadt 04. A lackluster time in the 2. Bundesliga led to a move back to L.A., but Buddle found himself overshadowed by DP strike partner Robbie Keane and netted just three goals in 2012.
