Reports from Australia linked Becks with a short move Down Under, but the former England international dismissed the speculation.
Football Federation Australia claimed that Beckham's management approached it about a 10-game loan in Australia during the MLS offseason. But a spokesman for the LA Galaxy midfielder denied those reports quickly, and Beckham himself claims they are false.
"No. Definitely not true," he told reporters in the belly of the Home Depot Center after a Galaxy training session on Friday.
News broke in Australia Thursday night, U.S. time, and the 37-year-old claims that when he woke up his coach, Bruce Arena, told him about the rumors.
"Bruce [Arena] told me that this morning – the first I'd heard about it," Beckham said, with a chuckle. "Nope. Like I said that's the first I'd heard of that, this morning."
Arena, waiting along a wall nearby, pitched in with a joke: "We've booked his tickets already."
The Galaxy take on the Seattle Sounders in the second leg of the Western Conference final on Sunday. If Los Angeles holds on to its 3-0 lead, it will advance to the MLS Cup final, with a chance of a repeat title.
