Hal Douglas Quinn reportedly attacked his wife over the weekend following an argument at a luxury Manhattan hotel.

The CEO of FC Dallas was arrested for allegedly beating and suffocating his wife in a luxury New York City hotel last weekend, according to a report in the NY Post.

Hal Douglas Quinn, the head of the Major League Soccer club, allegedly attacked Elizabeth Quinn after an argument on Saturday afternoon at The Alex Hotel, according to the newspaper.

"It was his 50th birthday Friday night. We had a lovely night, and unfortunately things went wrong," Elizabeth told the Post. The couple has two children together.

The report suggests that Elizabeth was taken to the hospital after the 6-foot-5, 250-pound Quinn choked her and put a pillow to her face until she passed out.

Quinn was released on $20,000 bail following his arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court.

“We and Major League Soccer are aware of the report regarding Doug Quinn," FC Dallas said in a statement to Goal.com. "We are currently gathering additional information and will have no further comment at this time.”

Quinn is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the club to attend to personal matters, FC Dallas announced Wednesday. Hunt Sports Group Vice President Dan Hunt will lead FC Dallas on an interim basis, effective immediately.
