Houston Dynamo 2-0 New England Revolution: Dynamo grind out win

Two late goals in a drenched, dreary Saturday night match in Houston gave the Dynamo a comfortable win over the Revs.
The Houston Dynamo fought out a 2-0 win in a drenched BBVA Compass Stadium against the New England Revolution thanks to goals from Ricardo Clark and Oscar Boniek García.

Houston spurned a good chance in the 70th minute. A prodding Brian Ching pass put Will Bruin through. Bruin cut inside A.J. Soares and fizzled a shot across the front of goal which Bobby Shuttleworth pushed around the far post.

A few minutes later the Dynamo had the lead. Ching again instigated, passing down the right side of the box for Brad Davis. The hard, low (right-footed) cross banked up Ricardo Clark's cleat and floated in delicately off the far post.

With less than 10 minutes remaining, Cam Weaver crashed a shot off the upright as Houston maintained its pressure.

In stoppage time the Dynamo broke through again. Warren Creavalle burst down the right flank and floated the ball to the far post. Oscar Boniek García showed up late and slotted past Shuttleworth on the volley.
