Montreal's Nelson Rivas suspended and fined by MLS for headbutt

MLS decided that two extra games was enough for Rivas.
The Major League Soccer Disciplinary Committee has announced that it has suspended and fined Montreal Impact defender Nelson Rivas two matches and an undisclosed amount for his intentional headbutt of the Philadelphia Union's Antoine Hoppenot in the team's match on Aug. 4.

Rivas, 29, received a straight red card for the incident and will now miss a further two games on top of the automatic one-match suspension that came with the card. His suspension will begin this Saturday when the Impact travels to Foxboro to take on New England.

The Committee also announced that San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski has been fined for publicly criticizing league officials following the Quakes match with the Vancouver Whitecaps on July 22.
