thumbnail Hello,

An early red card for Bill Hamid sent the Dynamo on its way to an easy home win.

The Houston Dynamo made it a night to forget for visiting D.C. United, breezing to a 4-0 win at BBVA Compass Stadium on Sunday evening.

The match was turned on its head just 17 minutes in after Corey Ashe sent Mac Kandji behind the D.C. defense. Goalkeeper Bill Hamid could only scythe the forward down, forcing the referee to point to the spot and issue Hamid a red card for being the last defender. Brad Davis stepped up and buried the penalty kick past new keeper Joe Willis.

Davis nearly made it two a minute later, but a sprawling Willis saved his curling effort off the post.

With 37 minutes gone, Houston doubled the lead. Luiz Camargo got past his marker and squared to an onrushing Will Bruin, who had an easy tap-in for his 10th goal of the season.

In the 61st minute, the Dynamo made sure of the points as Boniek Garcia scored his first MLS goal on a well-placed header from an Andre Hainault cross. In the game's final minutes, Houston added a fourth goal from a Brian Ching penalty to heap further misery on the visitors.
