San Jose Earthquakes terminate Tressor Moreno's contract

With the Colombian angling at a return to South America, San Jose obliged by canceling Tressor Moreno's contract.
The San Jose Earthquakes have terminated the contract of Tressor Moreno.

In his first year in MLS, Moreno contributed three assists. However, he started only six games, making 12 total appearances, and asked to be released from the team with the most points at the halfway point of the MLS season.

"Tressor was unhappy with his lack of playing time here and he wanted to leave. We respected his request and decided a mutual parting of ways would be best for both parties," said Earthquakes general manager John Doyle.

Reports from Latin America claim the 33-year-old had offers from Mexico and Chile. He is expected to rejoin former club Santiago Wanderers.

San Jose also transferred midfielder Anthony Ampaipitakwong to Buriram United. The 23-year-old passed a medical with the Thai Premier League club over a month ago.
