The Montenegrin left back will compete for a starting role in Columbus. The Columbus Crew announced they have signed left back Nemanja Vukovic to a multi-year deal. Per league policy, no further terms of the contract were disclosed.
Vukovic, 27, had been on trial with the club for the last two weeks, and will occupy an international roster slot.
“Nemanja is a quality, experienced left-footed player and we are very happy to add him to our roster,” said Crew head coach Robert Warzycha. “He makes good passes out of the back, hits good crosses and has good timing when joining the attack.”
A 6-2 native of Podgorica, Montenegro, Vukovic most recently played for OFK Grbalj of the Montenegro First League. He's played for two other Montenegrin teams during his career, and also had a stint with Panaitolikos in Greece between 2009 and 2011.
