The link between Major League Soccer and Colombia strengthened again Friday with the announcement that the Colorado Rapids signed left back Luis Eduardo Zapata.
“El Morumbi” has spent preseason with the club and notched an assist against Yokohama FC Thursday night.
“Luis is a talented and experienced left back, and his presence will strengthen our defense,” said Rapids technical director Paul Bravo. “We’ve had a chance to see how he fits into the team throughout preseason, and we’re excited to officially add him to the club.”
He has spent most of his career with Colombian side Millonarios.
