The UCLA alum returns to Southern California, where he will provide midfield depth for the Galaxy

The LA Galaxy have acquired midfielder Kyle Nakazawa and a second round pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft from the Philadelphia Union in exchange for an international roster spot during the 2012 season.

Nakazawa is a California native and attended UCLA. With the Galaxy, he will be reunited with college teammates Brian Perk and Michael Stephens.

The 23-year-old was selected by the Union in the third round (33rd overall) of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft. In two seasons in Philadelphia, he made 36 appearances and 22 starts, scoring one goal and adding three assists.

The move comes during a busy week for the Union, who lost goalkeeper Faryd Mondragon to Deportivo Cali on Monday, and traded star player Sebastien Le Toux to Vancouver on Tuesday, while also signing Roger Torres to a permanent deal after being on loan in 2010 and 2011.
