The Chicago Fire announced they have signed of Zimbabwean striker Kheli Dube, who was selected in December's Re-Entry Draft from New England. Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Kheli has been an offensive threat since he came into the league,” said Chicago Fire head coach Frank Klopas. “He’s a gritty, hard working forward that plays for the badge. Since joining us in preseason Kheli has shown his desire to be part of our club.”

Dube, 28, was selected eighth overall by the New England Revolution in the 2008 MLS Supplemental Draft. In 2008, he tallied four goals and four assists and was named a finalist for MLS Rookie of the Year.

Overall in his four-year MLS career, Dube has played in 72 games, starting 45, and has scored 14 goals.
