Major League Soccer announced on Tuesday that the Philadelphia Union will host the 2012 MLS All-Star Game at PPL Park in Chester, Pennsylvania.

The match is set for July 25th at 8 p.m. ET, though no opponent has been confirmed as yet.

“Philadelphia has a deep tradition of playing and supporting soccer, and the huge, enthusiastic fan base of the Philadelphia Union is a great success story for Major League Soccer,” Garber said in a statement. “The 2012 AT&T All-Star Game will be a great opportunity to celebrate Philadelphia’s soccer fans while giving viewers around the globe a glimpse of their passion.”

The match was previously held at the New York Red Bulls' Red Bull Arena and in Houston at Reliant Stadium. On both of those occasions, the opposition was English Premier League giants Manchester United.

"Since Philadelphia Union came to the region two years ago, the soccer fans in this area have shown that they are among the most passionate and authentic in the country,” said Union CEO Nick Sakiewicz in a statement. “It's a tremendous honor for us to host the MLS All Star game and reward the fans with yet another memorable experience at PPL Park.”

After joining MLS in 2010, the Union made the postseason for the first time in their second season in the league.
