The Chicago Fire have announced that midfielder Logan Pause has re-signed with the club for an additional two years through 2013.

“Logan has been a valuable asset to this club for a decade now,” said Chicago Fire head coach Frank Klopas. “Logan is a great leader for our younger players on the field and in the locker room and personifies our tenets of tradition, honor and passion.”

Selected in the third round (24th overall) of the 2003 MLS SuperDraft, Pause has spent his entire MLS career with Chicago. Named captain in 2011, Pause has made an impressive 227 appearances with the club, second behind only C.J. Brown who racked up 296 before he retired.

Pause, 30, a North Carolina native, has also been capped by the U.S. national team on six occasions since 2009.
