The Chicago Fire have acquired the rights to forward Orr Barouch from Mexican club Tigres UANL, the team announced Monday.
Barouch, 20, had spent the 2011 season on loan with Chicago, and impressed the coaching staff enough to make the move permanent.
"Orr is a talented, hardworking striker that played a significant role for us last season," said Fire head coach Frank Klopas. "He embodies the type of player we’re looking for and is someone that we see enormous potential for in the future."
In 2011, Barouch made 28 appearances for the Fire first team, (mostly off the bench), scoring two goals and two assists in the process. He also scored three goals in the Fire's run to the U.S. Open Cup final.
The young forward has also made his way into the Israeli national team's youth setup, having appeared three times in 2011 for his country's U-21 national team.
