Vancouver trades midfielder Shea Salinas to San Jose for allocation money
The midfielder will join his third team in four years.

Shea Salinas is returning to the San Jose Earthquakes after two years away from the club.
The Vancouver Whitecaps announced on Wednesday that they have traded the 25-year-old defender to the San Jose Earthquakes for allocation money.
Selected in two straight expansion drafts, first by the Philadelphia Union and then the Whitecaps last winter, Salinas will rejoin the team that he initially broke into MLS with in 2008. Drafted 15th overall in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft out of Furman University, Salinas went on to make 46 appearances for the Quakes over two season.
In his only season with the Whitecaps in 2011, Salinas made 26 appearances, scoring once.
