MLS announces first home games for 17th season

The league will open play with six matches on the first Saturday of the season.

Major League Soccer announced when each of the league's 19 teams will have their respective home openers on Tuesday, with six coming on the first day of the season.

Colorado, D.C., Los Angeles, San Jose, Seattle and Vancouver will all open the year at home on Saturday March 10. On Sunday, Chivas and Dallas will follow. Portland will round out the opening weekend on Monday the March 12.

In week two, Kansas City, Montreal, Salt Lake will kickoff on Saturday March 17 and will be followed by Philadelphia on Sunday March 18.

The rest of the league will open its home schedule on week three with Chicago, Columbus, New England and Toronto all hosting on March 24, while New York will begin at home on March 25.

Houston, who is currently in the process of building its new stadium, won't open at home until the 10th week of the year on May 12.
