Houston Dynamo close to signing Honduran Carlo Costly

Honduran striker Carlo Costly should join the Houston Dynamo shortly, forming an intimidating frontline with Brian Ching.
HOUSTON - The Houston Dynamo is close to signing Honduran international Carlo Costly, according to a source close to the team.

"It isn't final, but it is close," the source told Goal.com.

Details of the potential deal were unavailable.

Dynamo president Chris Canetti was quoted in the Houston Chronicle as saying, "We've been engaged in negotiations with his people for the last several days."

Costly is currently with Mexican Premier team Atlas where is scored two goals in 11 appearances. Additionally, the 29-year-old has cemented his spot as the first-choice striker on the Honduran national team, leading his country to the 2010 World Cup and scoring three goals in an injury-plagued 2011 Gold Cup.
