Goal.com editors and contributors have picked the best in the league for the week. After Real Salt Lake dominated the Los Angeles Galaxy, 4-1, much of the praise went to the team's key midfield player, Javier Morales.
Goal.com's Major League Soccer contributors and editors could not help but take notice.
"Morales continues to show why the best #10 in the league is actually wearing #11," Jeremy Horton explained. "He dominated the middle of the pitch in this week's highest-profile MLS contest, showing that the Galaxy midfield - as good as they are - are no match for the crafty Argentine."
"On a night when Real Salt Lake missed much of its star power, Javier Morales came through and carried his team to victory," Nick Rosano asserted. "He notched two goals and his all-around midfield display was instrumental in breaking down the Galaxy."
Tyler Page considered the choice obvious. "Tough to argue with RSL's #10 this week. Morales scored twice against the Galaxy, including a beauty that effectively ended the match in the 42nd minute."
Though Morales garnered the highest total votes, San Jose Earthquakes' star forward, Chris Wondolowski, earned quite a few, including that of Justin Churchill.
"His play against FC Dallas was clearly dominant as he was the best player on any pitch in the MLS this weekend. Last year's Golden Boot winner clearly is off to a great start this season. Wondolowski's brace also helped him keep his streak of scoring all 12 of the Earthquakes regular season goals spanning back to last September."
Votes also went to Chicago Fire's Marco Pappa, Real Salt Lake's Paulo Jr., Colorado's Jaime Smith and Toronto's Javier Martina.
