Starting midfielders Brad Evans and Steve Zakuani both exited early after suffering second half injuries.

SEATTLE - Seattle Sounders FC forward Fredy Montero scored twice and assisted on one goal to give the home side a resounding 3-1 win over the Colorado Rapids, the 2010 MLS Cup champions. Colorado midfielder Jeff Larentowicz notched the visitors' lone tally from the penalty spot. All of the scoring took place in the second half.

The final preseason dress rehearsal may necessitate changes to Seattle’s starting lineup as they prepare for their 2011 MLS opener on March 15 against the LA Galaxy. Midfielders Brad Evans and Steve Zakuani both appeared to have suffered leg injuries.

Evans made his way towards the Seattle bench early in the second half holding his right hamstring. The team announced that Zakuani had incurred a right hip ailment in the 81st minute of play.

Head coach Sigi Schmid took a wait-and-see-attitude in his post-match press conference comments.

“Hopefully the win wasn't costly in regards to a couple of injury possibilities,” Schmid said. “But that's why you have a squad and that's why you have depth.”
