Midfielder Brad Evans and forward Nate Jaqua missed significant playing time in 2010, and each recuperated with different results.SEATTLE – As the Seattle Sounders prepare for their March 15 MLS opening match against the LA Galaxy, two of their most important players returned to the practice pitch. Evans and Jaqua both suffered from ailments that cost them significant playing time in 2010.
Evans notched three assists and one goal before his 2010 season ended with a knee injury. The versatile midfielder/defender is now fully recovered. He’s ready to take on the responsibilities to generate more goals from his favored offensive midfielder position.
Despite his season long groin problems, Jaqua still managed to score six goals in all competitions, with five of those coming during U.S. Open Cup play. Those tallies earned him U.S. Open Player of the Tournament honors. The lanky striker’s injury did not improve after the MLS season, and he’s still recovering as the 2011 campaign is about to start.
