Sochaux forward Charlie Davies could be in line for a move to Major League Soccer with D.C. United the frontrunner for his services.
According to a Washington Post report, a deal could be finalized within 24-48 hours if both sides can agree. Davies would join United immediately and begin training with the club in Florida.
Davies, 24, has been struggling to return to action since he was badly injured in a 2009 car accident whilst in D.C. with the U.S. Men's National Team. He's only made eight appearances for the French club since joining them earlier that year from Hammarby.
The New Hampshire-native was becoming a vital part of Bob Bradley's setup with the USMNT before the car accident and has been fighting to get back in the side since. Since winning his first cap in 2007, he's made 17 appearances for the USA, scoring four goals.
