Celtic have completed the signing of Swedish midfielder Freddie Ljungberg, and he could make his debut as early as Sunday in the Old Firm derby against Rangers at Ibrox.

Ljungberg, who has made 75 appearances for Sweden, had a hugely successful spell Arsenal before moving to West Ham.

He then left London for a new challenge in MLS, where he played for both Seattle Sounders FC and more recently Chicago Fire, before making the move to Glasgow.

He has been training with Celtic this week and was in the stands during Wednesday’s 1-0 victory over Motherwell at Celtic Park, which saw the team move back to the top of the SPL.
