thumbnail Hello,

Three Seattle Sounders FC players received U.S. Green Cards Tuesday, granting the trio permanent resident status in the United States.

Colombian defender Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, Swiss striker Blaise Nkufo, and Congoese winger Steve Zakuani will no longer occupy international roster slots for Sounders FC.

All three are important players for Seattle. Zakuani notched 10 goals from midfield in 2010, while Nkufo, a Designated Player, provided a necessary hold-up player to make Sigi Schmid's formation work. Hurtado was an All-Star defender before injury robbed him of most of the 2010 season.
