The Brazilian striker leads Miami with eight goals in USSF D-2 Pro League play this year and has also added four assists. The eight goals in 22 appearances is enough to see Paulo ranked fifth overall in the D-2 scoring charts, but he also tops the U.S. Open Cup scoring charts with five goals in three games.
Seattle Sounders FC's Nate Jaqua also has five goals in that competition, and both could see pitch time Thursday night when the reigning MLS Cup champions take on the Sounders at Qwest Field.
"We are excited to add a forward like Paulo to give us as many options up top as possible as we push through our congested schedule of CONCACAF and League games at the end of our season," said RSL general manager Garth Lagerwey.
Paulo, who will take up RSL's fifth and last international roster slot, is 21.
