Freddie Ljungberg's return to Seattle was overshadowed by an electric performance by former teammate Fredy Montero this weekend.

The Colombian notched a brace, including a 94th minute winner, to lead Sounders FC over the Chicago Fire.

The 2-1 win lifted Seattle to fourth place in the Western Conference and keeps the side firmly in contention for a playoff slot come the end of the season. Montero now has double digits in both goals and assists in the 2010 MLS season.

Nick Rosano: Fredy Montero helped his fellow Sounders to make Freddie Ljungberg's return to Seattle a miserable one with a well-taken brace. Montero continues to lead the Sounders in their playoff push, and with the Colombian scoring like he is, no one should count them out.

Ramin Majd: Fredy Montero. There could have hardly been a better scenario for Sounders fans Saturday, as Fredy upstaged Freddie's return to Qwest Field with two goals, including a game-winning header in stoppage time.

J.R. Eskilson: Montero struck twice to keep Seattle's hot MLS streak intact. Plus the Sounder bosses will be a little more pleased than usual given the significance of the encounter.

Zac Lee Rigg: Sure, the defending was nonexistent on both goals, but Montero's brace was just reward for a downright sublime performance, the sort of performance he's been putting in every week for a couple of months now. The sort of performance which won't look out of place when Montero is playing in Europe, which surely can't be more than a transfer window away right now.

Seth Vertelney: Another two goals for Fredy, and the Sounders are 5-0-2 in their last seven MLS matches. Seattle fans miss Freddie Ljungberg about as much as they miss Clay Bennett right now.
