Report: Chivas de Guadalajara Attemping to Keep Omar Bravo For Six More Months, Delaying His Kansas City Wizards Move
The move could potentially see the striker move to Kansas City at the start of the 2011 season.
According to reports from the Mexican newspaper Récord, Chivas de Guadalajara will attempt to keep striker Omar Bravo in the fold for the next six months, at least temporarily derailing a potential move to the Kansas City Wizards.
Chivas coach Jose Luis Real wants his striker in the fold for the rest of the 2010 Apertura, as well as a potential Copa Libertadores Final if the Goats are to advance that far.
Chivas management will make an inquiry to the Wizards, says the report, in an attempt to secure Bravo on a six-month loan, as his contract with Chivas is set to expire Friday. If the Wizards accept, it will create the unusual situation of Chivas paying to secure a player on loan who is currently playing for them.
Assuming the deal goes through, Bravo would stay with Chivas for the rest of the Apertura, and be free to join the Wizards for the start of the 2011 MLS season.
