Red Bull New York announced today that forward John Wolyniec has been waived.
A New York state native, Wolyniec, had been asked by the team to stay on in a coaching capacity, but he elected to try to continue his playing career.
“John is a true professional and a hard working player," said Red Bull New York General Manager and Sporting Director Erik Soler. "We wish him the best of luck in the future,” .
Wolyniec's proudest moment in New York colors probably came when he scored in the 2008 Major League Soccer final versus the Columbus Crew in a losing effort.
