FC Dallas climbs into the top four in this week's Goal.com MLS Rankings.

1. Los Angeles – Roberto Mancini's kind words about Landon Donovan on Wednesday probably didn't go over well in southern California. (1)

2. Real Salt Lake
– Interesting to hear Jason Kreis ponder his tactics and wonder if he should have shown more audacity after the loss at FC Dallas last weekend. Given its performances and its ability to churn out results this season, RSL has probably reached the point where it can afford to dictate to other teams regardless of the situation. (2)

3. Columbus – Robert Warzycha will hope Brian Carroll's sprained right ankle heals quickly. The no-frills midfielder makes the Crew tick. (3)

4. FC Dallas – One byproduct of keeping the ball so well: FCD's once rickety defense is now joint second in the league in goals conceded after notching a third shutout in five matches against RSL. (5)

5. New York – Thierry Henry makes his debut against old foes Tottenham on Thursday night. A few people in New York will be watching, one suspects. (4)

6. San Jose – Can the Earthquakes seize on another chance to make a statement with their trip to Los Angeles this weekend? (7)

7. Toronto FC – The loss in Philadelphia may not be the last time TFC pays for signing inferior fullbacks earlier this season. (6)

8. Colorado – Four draws and a loss in the past five matches means the Rapids need an injection of something to avoid mediocrity. (8)

9. Houston – Steve Ralston, Dynamo assistant coach and former player. Seems weird, doesn't it? (10)

10. Seattle
– The parting between Freddie Ljungberg and Sounders FC appears inevitable. Tough to blame either side, really: Ljungberg wants security, Seattle wants the option to look elsewhere. (11)

11. Chicago
– Find your fitness quickly, Nery. (9)

12. New England
– Four consecutive shutouts and four consecutive wins – three of which fell in the Revolution invitational others like to call SuperLiga – may have just pushed Steve Nicol's side back on track. (14)

13. Kansas City
– Four points from two matches in Columbus and Colorado represents about four more points than most people expected the Wizards on that swing.  (16)

14. Philadelphia
– Nice effort against Manchester United, but will any momentum carry into next weekend's date with New England. (15)

15. Chivas USA
– Swapping Jonathan Bornstein for Sal Zizzo probably isn't a net victory for the Red-and-White. (13)

16. D.C. United – When a club concedes the most goals in the league, scores the fewest times and loses two games in four days, it's not hard to figure out where it will end up in the weekly rankings. (12)
