Major League Soccer today announced that LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena will lead the MLS All-Stars against 2009 English Premier League champion Manchester United in the 2010 AT&T MLS All-Star Game.

Arena earned the honor by guiding the Galaxy to an exceptional record in the first half of the MLS regular season. Even while missing stars like David Beckham (to a Milan loan and then injury) Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle (to World Cup duty for the USA), the Los Angeles squad lost only once in fourteen matches.

Arena previously coached the USA national team for eight years, including a 2002 quarterfinal finish at the World Cup.

For the match versus Manchester United, Arena has picked the Dominic Kinnear, coach of the two-time MLS champions Houston Dynamo, to be his assistant.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2 and TeleFutura from Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas on Wednesday, July 28 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
