Danny Mwanga knows how to score a dramatic goal.

Two weeks ago, with his side trailing by a goal to FC Dallas, the first overall pick in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft scored his first goal for the Philadelphia Union in injury time.

In the expansion team's next game, his injury time goal was the game winner in Houston.

"The rookie is pulling into fine form for the expansion club, grabbing an assist and a goal in the team's first ever road win," said deputy editor Shane Evans. "Could become a dangerous striker as the season gets going."

"A number of rookies impressed this week, but none more so than Danny Mwanga," said contributor Nick Rosano. "With his side down 2-1 away from home, he rose to the task, first notching a fine assist for Sebastien Le Toux's equalizer before finding himself in the right place at the right time to power home the winner in the 93rd winner."

On the assist, the former Oregon State player showed poise and a soft touch in the box, bringing down a lobbed ball and sliding it into the path of Le Toux's run with just one touch. Then Mwanga finished off the game with a tidy redirection from Le Toux's cross, sidefooting into the back of the net.

"Welcome to the Rookie of the Year conversation, Danny," said youth editor J.R. Eskilson.

One guy in the Most Valuable Player conversation is Dwayne De Rosario. The Canadian international added two goals against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, taking his season total to eight, good for second best in MLS.

"Coming off the bench, De Rosario gave Toronto FC a spark, getting two counter-attack goals," San Jose correspondent Giovanni Albanese Jr. said. "He factored in nearly all the TFC second-half chances and, to be honest, probably should have had another goal or two in his 45 minutes."
