Kasey Keller - 6.5: Keller needed to make a couple of fine stops to keep the score at only 1-0. His only mistake occurred on Conor Casey's goal, where he may have been out of position.

James Riley - 6: Played his usual understated and smart defensive game. Nothing spectacular and no mistakes from the always reliable Riley.

Jeff Parke - 4: Parke failed to keep Casey from outmaneuvering him on the lone tally of the match. Once he fell to the pitch, it allowed the Colorado forward enough time to chip the ball over Keller and two defenders. He appeared to be struggling throughout the match with his endurance and the Colorado altitude.

Tyrone Marshall - 6: A physical presence defensively and in the box on free kick opportunities.

Leo Gonzalez - 5: Struggled in the first half when he was over-matched by Colorado's Omar Cummings. Returned to form in the second stanza.

Patrick Ianni - 6: Nearly scored on his one-timer that required a fine save by Colorado 'keeper Pickens. Solid on defense throughout the match.

Freddie Ljungberg - 6: Ljungberg continued to create opportunities but the finishing touch is seriously lacking. A big presence in the box may be what Freddie needs to get his name back on the scoresheet.

Brad Evans - 6: Evans continues to be the most versatile player on the team. He had a solid and quiet game.

Pat Noonan - 5: The veteran played up front in the 4-3-3 formation and failed to generate any real scoring chances. Schmid took him out in the 83rd minute.

Fredy Montero - 5: The enigmatic Colombian was taken out in the 76th minute as the Sounders failed again to score. The energy level was there but the results weren't.

Steve Zakuani - 6: Took quite a pounding in the first half and nailed one impressive pass to Ljungberg. Played 18 minutes into the second half before taking a seat on the bench.

Substitutes

Sanna Nyassi - 5: Entered the match for Zakuani in the second half. Several disruptive runs that failed to generate any offense.

Miguel Montano - 5: Replaced fellow Colombian Montero with same results - no goals.

Roger Levesque - 5: Last year's super sub came in for Pat Noonan and didn't figure in much with seven minutes left in the match.

Colorado Rapids

Matt Pickens - 7: Made the one save when he had to. Notched his fourth clean sheet of the year.

Marvell Wynne -  7: The veteran and his other defenders play as a cohesive group. The shutout speaks for itself.

Julien Baudet - 7: Barely missed notching a goal when his header went wide. An added bonus in addition to an outstanding effort defensively.

Drew Moor - 7: Made numerous clearances out of his own zone. Totally in synch with his defenders and midfielders throughout the match.

Danny Earls - 6.5:  His only mistake was the backpass to Montero that could have cost the Rapids the win. Otherwise, played a solid match on defense.

Pablo Mastroeni - 6:
Played hard and physically. Figured in several good offensive touches in the offensive zone.

Mehdi Ballouchy - 7: His corners into the box always seemed to find a teammate and nearly scored on his one-on-one opportunity.

Jeff Larentowicz - 6: Played a defensive game from his midfield position. Didn’t figure in too many touches nor did he hurt the team.

Wells Thompson - 5.5: Taken out in the 61st minute which indicates how effective he was throughout the match.

Omar Cummings - 7.5: A dynamo that clearly was the most energetic player on the pitch. His Seattle defender struggled to stay up with him.

Conor Casey - 8: His lone goal required physical play and a soft touch. Casey scored a non-penalty kick strike for the first time this year. His game could be returning to 2009 form.

Substitutes

Colin Clark - 5: Entered the match for Wells Thompson and had a few touches.

Quincy Amarikwa - NA
