After just 11 games and one goal, Ali Gerba has left Toronto FC, the club announced today. The Canadian international joined MLS from MK Dons. However, the 28-year-old was earlier sent home from a preseason trip to South Carolina after underperforming.

"We want to wish Ali all the best, and thank him for his contribution to the club," said manager, director of soccer Mo Johnston.

In other Toronto roster news, the club signed draft pick Joseph Nane to a developmental contract.

"Joseph is a good young prospect," said Johnston of the 23-year-old midfielder. "Our coaching staff is looking forward to working with him, and helping him develop into a good young player for us."
