Major League Soccer outfit New York Red Bulls are eager to sign Brazilian midfielder Ze Roberto from Bundesliga outfit Hamburger SV, according to a report in German newspaper Bild.

Current Red Bull football chief Dietmar Beiersdorfer is determined to lure the 35-year-old to the USA and the American side are reportedly ready to offer Ze Roberto a three-year deal, offering him an annual salary of €3.65 million.

Ze Roberto joined HSV from Bayern Munich last summer and immediately developed into an important first team player at the Rothosen. He has made 16 league appearances so far for HSV, scoring six goals.

It remains to be seen though whether Hamburg are ready to let go of the influential midfielder. Ze Roberto's current HSV deal is due to expire in the summer of 2011.
