GK Ian Joyce Joins The Colorado Rapids
The Rapids added some goalkeeping cover.
By Zac Lee Rigg
Ian Joyce will join up with the Colorado Rapids as the team trains in London, England. The 24-year-old will officially seal his move to the MLS club upon receipt of his international transfer certificate.
The New Jersey-native has spent his entire career in England, most recently with Southend United, but previously with Watford. In February he participated in the Rapids' preseason training.
In a trade with the New England Revolution, Colorado dished out backup goalkeeper Preston Burpo. Joyce will offer cover for first-choice Matt Pickens.
In other roster moves, Colorado released Facundo Diz and declined to offer draft pick Chad Borak a contract.
