On Wednesday defender Ty Harden was acquired by Toronto FC in exchange for a third round draft pick in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft.

The 25-year-old was a second round pick for Los Angeles in 2007 where he featured prominently in the team before taking a break from the game to pursue other endeavors.

Upon his return to professional soccer Harden was traded to Colorado where he saw limited action in 2009.

“We are excited to have him on board with us,” TFC head coach Preki said in a press release. “He’s a good quality, young defender and there are many things I like about him. He showed a lot of promise in his rookie season with the Galaxy and we hope he can add some toughness to our back line.”

Harden will join his new team in Bradenton, Florida for pre-season training.
