Paulo Nagamura Leaves Chivas USA For Tigres

The Brazilian midfielder has ended his stay in MLS.

Chivas USA midfielder Paulo Nagamura has decided to end his stay with Major League Soccer side Chivas USA, opting to try his hand with Tigres UANL of Mexico instead.

Nagamura leaves Chivas as a free agent after making 73 appearances over three seasons for the club.

“Paulo is a strong, dedicated player who has given this club a lot in the past three seasons,” said Stephen Hamilton, Chivas USA Vice President of Soccer Operations. “While we’re disappointed that we weren’t able to re-sign him, we’re eager to continue building the team for the 2010 season. Everyone at Chivas USA wishes Paulo the best at Tigres.”

Chivas did manage to retain the services of Jesus Padilla, Maicon Santos, and Yamith Cuesta, extending the loans of all three players who joined the club during the middle of the 2009 season.
