Amado Guevara Leaves Toronto, Joins Honduras' Motagua
The midfielder signed a two-year contract with the Honduran club.

Reports out of Honduras confirm that Amado Guevara has signed with Motagua, ending his stint in Major League Soccer, perhaps for good.
It stands to reason that Guevara's days at Toronto FC were numbered once Preki was chosen as the team's new coach. The two had famously clashed while at Chivas USA, with Preki sending the player packing.
When Guevara was left exposed in the expansion draft, many believed that the Philadelphia Union would pick up the player, but coach Peter Nowak passed on that option.
Still, though Guevara's trade value had slipped drastically because so many were aware of Preki's dislike, it seemed likely another club would pick him up.
In 2004, Guevara led MLS in scoring and was awarded the Most Valuable Player trophy.
However, five years later, Guevara apparently tired of waiting to see where he might land in MLS, and came to terms with a club back in his homeland. He had previously had four different playing spells with Motagua.
The deal with Montagua runs for two years, which would see Guevara through his stint in the 2010 World Cup with Honduras.
"I'm so happy to return," Guevara said to the local press. "I plan to retire here."
