Quick Kicks: RSL's Nick Rimando

The MLS Cup winning 'keeper answers the Quick Kicks questions.

RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando had a glorious end to the 2009 season. After helping his squad into the playoffs, Rimando went on a fine run of form, knocking out defending champions Columbus before making key saves in back to back shootout wins over Chicago and Los Angeles to help RSL lift the cup.

With the season over, and the title in hand, Rimando sat down and answered the Quick Kick questions for Goal.com.

Nickname: Dagger, from my friends Branden and Spike.

Club(s) Supported: Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Lakers.

Strengths: Shotblocking, and my ability to play with my feet.

Weaknesses: Penalty kicks (said with a laugh).

Soccer Heroes:
Right now, Robbie Findley.

Career Highlight:
I think winning MLS Cup.

Views on MLS: It’s been good so far. It’s a league that’s been around for a lot of years, but I think things need to change for it to keep coming around.

Biggest Influence: My parents, for sure.

Tunes on the iPod: A lot of punk rock.

Dream Car: I don’t know – I don’t have a dream car.

Favorite Movies:
I like Seven.

Something We Don't Know About You:
I’m an extremely great slow dancer.

In Five Years: Holding up our 2nd or 3rd MLS Cup for Real Salt Lake.
