Report: Aberdeen Targeting Stuart Holden
The rumors of where the Houston Dynamo star will end up are starting to fly.
Stuart Holden will likely have plenty of suitors in the January transfer window, but one club has come out and said that they are paying close attention to the Houston Dynamo star.
Aberdeen, the Scottish club in the city where Holden was born, have admitted that they are targeting the midfielder to help strengthen the squad.
Manager Mark McGhee is quoted on stv.tv as saying "(Holden) is one we are looking at," before explaining that a move for the midfielder could happen in January or the team might have to wait until the summer.
"He fits into the caliber of player we are trying to sign," the manager concluded.
Holden is on a free transfer, making him a very intriguing option to any number of clubs, but the midfielder, who has recently found a regular role with the U.S. National Team, knows that he should weigh his options carefully before leaving Major League Soccer.
"I'm available on a free and I've already got a few options in Scotland and England. Moving back to the UK appeals but I have to make sure wherever I end up I'm playing every week.
"I have a big chance to play at the World Cup in the summer and don't want to miss out on it by being at the wrong side."
