Cummins Relieved Of Interim Duties At Toronto FC
After roughly six months in charge, Chris Cummins is out of a job after TFC didn't make his interim tag permanent.
After a rough start to the season and the resignation of John Carver, Toronto FC turned to Chris Cummins to lead them to the post-season.
An 8-9-7 record later, the Canadian club were out of the playoffs and looking to next season.
“We have decided to move forward without Chris for next season,” said manager, director of soccer Mo Johnston in a press release. “We want to thank Chris for his contribution to the club over the last year and a half, and wish him all the best in the future. For us, the work now begins on finding a new coach, and getting him in here before pre-season starts February 1st.”
Promoted to replace John Carver on April 29th, Cummins joined TFC as an assistant back in May of 2008.
