On Tuesday Toronto F.C. midfielder Carl Robinson injured his face in a collision on the train pitch. After a visit to a specialists on Wednesday the midfielder has decided to have surgery to correct a fractured facial bone.
The surgery will keep Robinson out of action for 6-8 weeks and will cost him the rest of the regular season, though a return in the late rounds of the playoffs remains a slight possibility.
TFC are currently three points back of a playoff spot and will have a chance to earn some much needed points on Saturday when they face a struggling San Jose team at BMO Field.
