With three games left to play, the New England Revolution currently occupies the eight and last playoff spot. The team will eventually shock Major League Soccer by failing to qualify for the postseason, say 44% who voted in a Goal.com poll.
Between 2005 and 2007, Steve Nicol's team made it to the MLS Cup final, losing out every time. The Revs won't have a chance to make it that far this time, according to the votes.
New England hasn't looked its usual dominant self. A rash of injuries to key cogs in the squad (including Taylor Twellman and Steve Ralston) have left the roster threadbare and all the more reliant on Shalrie Joseph to decide games on his own.
Of course, the actual results will be determined on the pitch.
Seattle Sounders FC and D.C. United earned hefty portions of the vote as well.
