Houston Trade Kamara To Kansas City

The Houston Dynamo sent Kei Kamara to Kansas City for Abe Thompson and allocation money.

The Houston Dynamo and Kansas City Wizards made a deal on Tuesday that sent Kei Kamara to the Wizards in exchange for forward Abe Thompson and allocation money.

“We would like to thank Kei for his contributions to the Dynamo, both in 2008 and this year.  We feel this is a good move that will help our team remain competitive for the remainder of this season and beyond,” said Dynamo Chief Operating Officer Chris Canetti in a press release.

Kamara has netted five times this season for Houston while Thompson is still searching for his fist goal of the year having played in only eight matches for the Wizards.

The deadline-day trade should help to bolster the Kansas City front line in their attempt to make a late playoff push.
