Goal.com's MLS Player Of Week 24: RSL's Pablo Campos

This week, Pablo Campos received his first two starts for Real Salt Lake and repaid the faith of his manager with two game winners.
“One week, two game winners for RSL,” said New York correspondent Terence Steed. “Maybe he wasn't the most dangerous player in the first game, but there is nothing more valuable for a team than an efficient striker who can finish the few chances he is given.”
The first goal came late in the first half between Chivas USA and RSL. The Lakers were struggling to break down the visitors until Campos sneaked between the two central defenders to power a header in from a Fabian Espindola delivery. Next, against the Kansas City Wizards, he again found space between two markers to tap home Andy William's pass.
“He held his own in Kansas City on a small pitch, showing his ability to hold the ball up and using his footwork to contribute to the tight passing game necessitated by the baseball field doubling as a soccer pitch,” explained Salt Lake correspondent Randy Davis. “If he hadn't scored in KC, Real Salt Lake would already be setting its sights on next season, instead it is right in the thick of the playoff hunt.”
Two players tied in the voting for second place. Both Bryan Namoff and David Beckham scored game winners for their clubs. Namoff's came off an early header to give D.C. United a slender win away at the Chicago Fire.
“When D.C. United was in a desperate need for three points Saturday night against Chicago, the United defender played the part of hero,” said D.C. correspondent Steven Streff. “Not only was he part of a back line that kept its second consecutive clean sheet, but he scored the winner in the 11th minute, with a well placed header.”
Beckham stroked home an awkward ball in the closing minutes of the Honda SuperClasico. His goal gave the Los Angeles Galaxy three points over Chivas USA.
“Of the teams in the top two slots in each conference, only the Galaxy won and moved up with full points, thanks largely to the efforts of David Beckham,” said chief editor Andrea Canales. “It wasn't just his winning goal, but his effort all throughout the game. Even when his set pieces weren't clicking for him, he kept hustling on plays, at one point scrambling to save a sure goal when goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts came out of his box and left the goal vulnerable. A late, unselfish Beckham pass should have been a goal for Landon Donovan. In short, he didn't play like someone saving himself for England games at the expense of his club.”
Robbie Findley also received votes.
