VIDEO: David Beckham Speaks On LA Derby
With the Los Angeles Galaxy and Chivas USA battling for a playoff spot, there's extra spice to the derby rivalry.
CARSON, Calif. -- Same city, same stadium, but only one crown to the Superclasico between Chivas USA and the Los Angeles Galaxy. Last year, the Galaxy claimed the trophy from Chivas USA, but sat at home while their stadium neighbors participated in Major League Soccer's playoffs.
This year, with the playoffs around the corner, the Galaxy sit just two points above a revitalized Chivas USA. Preki and company started the season strong, but then slumped with a losing streak they finally snapped by winning two matches in a row.
Real Salt Lake pounded Chivas USA for four goals in Utah on Wednesday, though. The Galaxy will find Chivas USA still smarting from that loss and eager to take full points, since that would vault them to second place in the Western Conference.
