Revs Boss Nicol Handed Fine And Suspension
The latest in a slew of punishments, MLS has fined and suspended Revolution boss Steve Nicol.
The Major League Soccer disciplinary committee has fined and suspended New England Revolution head coach Steve Nicol for his dismissal in the August 1 game against Toronto FC.
On top of the automatic $500 fine and one game suspension, the league has slapped on an extra $1000 and another game. In total, Nicol will be out $1500 and miss today's game against the Los Angeles Galaxy and the August 20 game against Seattle Sounders FC.
Due to new protocol in the league, the former Liverpool fullback will not be allowed to contact his squad before or during the matches he is banned. Assistant coach Paul Mariner will take over the team for those matches.
