MLS Fines For RSL Coach Kreis And Seattle's Ljungberg
RSL coach Jason Kreis has been fined $3500 for his confrontation of match officials in a game against FC Dallas. Also, Freddie Ljungberg has been fined $500 for failing to leave the field upon being sent off.
The Major League Soccer disciplinary committee has fined Real Salt Lake head coach Jason Kreis and Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Freddie Ljungberg.
For his verbal confrontation with the refereeing crew against FC Dallas on July 24, Kreis has been fined $3000 and suspended for a match. This comes on top of the $500 and one match ban that accompanies any sending off, as Kreis was ejected from the match in the 73rd minute. The former striker will serve his ban against the Chicago Fire on August 1 and the Seattle Sounders on August 8.
The day after Kreis' dismissal, Seattle's designated player Ljungberg was ejected from a match against Chicago. For his failure to leave the field of play, the league has fined him an additional $500.
